At the heart of our mission are our life-saving volunteer blood donors. Recognizing the enormous potential for generosity in our community, New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe) also offers everyone an opportunity to support our mission through financial contributions. Did you know NYBCe has been saving lives since 1964 as an independent nonprofit blood center? We provide the highest quality of blood products to over 75 million people in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT), Mid-Atlantic area (PA, DE, MD, VA), Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Rhode Island, and Southern New England. NYBCe has faced many new challenges throughout the COVID-19 pandemic as opportunities to collect lifesaving blood in the community have dropped—at times by as much as 80%.
With help from our generous financial contributors, NYBCe has continued to provide critical healthcare services to our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve continued to maintain an adequate blood supply for our hospital partners while also collecting, testing, and distributing convalescent plasma to hospitals with the hope that plasma transfusions help save the lives of COVID-19 patients in critical need.
